From SADIQ ABUBAKAR, Maiduguri –
Barhama Islamic School/ Foundation, Bulumkutu, Maiduguri , has presented a distinguished national award to Khalifa Aliyu Ahmad Abulfathi in recognition of his leadership and humanitarian services to the Muslim Ummah and community generally.
The award was presented to the Khalifa Abulfathi by the Founder/Director of Barhama Islamic School Bulumkutu Maiduguri, Malam Muhammad Shehu Surajo at the Madinatul Central Mosque residence of Late Sheikh Ahmad Aliyu Abulfathi (RTA) at the weekend.
The ceremony was witnessed by a large crowd comprising of distinguished invited guests, Islamic scholars, students, parents of the students, friends, relations , school teachers and associates .
In his remarks during the presentation, Malam Surajo said the school/foundation deemed it fit and suitable to recognize and honour Sheikh Aliyu Abulfathi for his leadership style, resilience and humanitarian support to the community.
Surajo said the pattern of his coordination, management and control of affairs generally, as well as humanitarian support and assistance to all and sundry, especially the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and both the Islamic pupils, students and teachers including neighbours during the trying moments of COVID-19, month of Ramadan Fast, Maulud Nabiyyi, sallah festivals and others were worthy of emulation.
He added that the nature of his humanitarian services as a Cleric and Philanthropic has been unique and deserved honest commendation and recognition which informed the presentation of the distinguished award to him while urging him to maintain the tempo and continue to serve humanity.
Surajo noted that actually, his reward is in the Heaven and God Almighty is always with him while praying God to continue to guide and protect him in all his daily endeavours and to give him the strength and wisdom to lead his followers, students and teachers successfully and impressively.
Responding, Khalifa Aliyu Ahmad Abulfathi could not hide his joy and happiness for the wonderful recognition and honour done to him by Barhama Islamic Foundation) School Bulumkutu Maiduguri.
He thanked them for the award and assured therm that with the Grace of God, he shall continue to serve humanity and lead the school, foundation and community to the best of his ability and knowledge while praying God to also bless and guide them accordingly as future generation and leaders of tomorrow.
Sheikh Murtala Abulfathi who also graved the occasion expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the recognition and honour done to his elder brother and leader , pointing out that, the award was timely and indeed unique.
Highlights of the presentation ceremony include special prayers, recitation of Quran by Barhama Islamic School Bulumkutu students and presentation of the award among others.
