Governor Bala Mohammed who stated this on Saturday, during projects inspection tour, explained that its purpose is to ensure that the projects his administration had procured during his tenure were delivered on time, adding that the town was an historic one been threatened by flood where many houses had been submerged by water.

The governor said: “In addition to the drainages we are constricting here, there must be a good road within the town. About three kilometers of road within this town is under construction so that we can open the town of Disina.”

While expressing satisfaction with the contractor for the work he has done so far, the governor urged him to expedite action and keep up the good work.

Speaking earlier, the Commissioner for Works and Transport in the state, Abdulkadir Ibrahim, said that the road and drainages had been the yearnings of the people of the community.

He stated that the State Governor had listened to the yearnings of the people in the area by fulfilling his promise, and hence the release the 30 percent advance payment of the total contract sum.

He also said that the projects were progressing, adding that they would be completed in the next couple of months.

Mr. Ibrahim said: “This is how governance is done. The governor is here to see things by himself, he is not in his office taking tea or coffee and instructing us”.

“Once he instructs his subordinates, he makes sure he follows them to every nook and cranny of where a project is sighted. This is what has been the yearnings of the people of Disina for years.”
