Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has issued a public notice warning individuals and businesses to be cautious of impostors claiming to represent the company.
These scammers allegedly solicit fees for meetings with NNPC board members, executives, and management staff.
Chief Corporate Communications Officer, NNPC Ltd., Olufemi Soneye, stated this in a statement issued via the corporation’s official X handle @nnpclimited on Tuesday.
the public to be vigilant, saying, “These actions are unauthorized and illegal. We remain committed to transparency, integrity, and the protection of our stakeholders in all interactions.”
The NNPC advises those approached by suspected impostors to report incidents to the appropriate authorities immediately. All legitimate engagements with NNPC Limited occur strictly through official channels or business units.
Soneye emphasized the importance of collaboration in preventing scams, stating, “Let’s work together to prevent scams. Stay alert and share this notice.” The NNPC provides a dedicated email address for further inquiries: [email protected].
He urged foreign investors and international business entities to remain cautious, ensuring they verify the authenticity of any NNPC representatives before engaging in business dealings.
