Borno State House of Assembly speaker, Rt. Hon. Abdulkarim Lawan, has commended Governor Babagana Zulum for appointing veteran journalist, Ali Shuwa, as the new General Manager of the Borno Radio Television Corporation (BRTV), Maiduguri.
Hon. Lawan gave the commendation when the newly appointed General Manager, alongside some management staff of the station, presented his letter of appointment to the Speaker at the Legislative Guest House, Old GRA, Maiduguri.
The speaker described Shuwa as a seasoned journalist with decades of experience in broadcasting, news management, and public communication, noting that his appointment was well-deserved and a testament to Governor Zulum’s commitment to repositioning state-owned media for greater service delivery.
He assured the new general manager of the Assembly’s cooperation in promoting media development and strengthening the partnership between the legislature and the state-owned broadcaster.
In his remarks, the general manager expressed gratitude to Governor Zulum for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work with dedication and professionalism to enhance the station’s role in public enlightenment, education, and information dissemination.
Shuwa also appreciated the speaker for the warm reception and promised to sustain the cordial working relationship between BRTV and the legislature.
