In continuation of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the BUA Group of Company has yet again spent no fewer than 62 million naira on various projects for host communities in Sokoto State.
The projects which include the procurement and installation of electricity transformers in 3 villages and construction of borehole in 2 others was greatly appreciated by the benefitting locals.
Giving reasons for their continued assistance to host communities, BUA’s Head of Cooperate Affairs, Mr Sada Suleiman said, its a manifestation of the good relationship they enjoyed from their hosts.
According to Sada, BUA has strived and still striving towards assisting humanity, especially, their host communities with provision of hospitals, resettlement, building schools, medical consumables, employments as well as scholarships amongst others.
“We in BUA, believe in giving back to humanity which is why we continue to do lots of Corporate Social Responsibility projects for our host communities and even neighboring states of Zamfara and Kebbi”.
BUA procured and installed transformers for Sada Quaters in Arkila and Hinda Chibua both in Wamakko Local government and another one in Rijiyya A and B Council Ward of Sokoto South local government respectively.
For one of the benefiting villages, Hinda Chibua under Wajeke District of Wamakko local government which is a stone throw from BUA Plant, the entire community has remained in darkness since 1979.
Expressing how happy they were that BUA Cement has brought electricity to them after 43 years in darkness, one of the villagers, who gave his name as Shehu Muhammad said they lack words to appreciate BUA for such a gesture.

BUA also provided boreholes with 10,000 liter over- head tank water capacity for both Gidan Gamba and Garabshi villages in Wamakko local government.
In his appreciation on behalf of the entire villagers, the Hakimin Garabshi, Umaru Malam Tukur said BUA cement have been of immense assistance to their well-being in areas of employment, and provision of amenities.
