Scene of the collapsed building
In Kirikasamma Local Government Area of Jigawa State, a devastating building collapse has resulted in the death of one individual and injuries to seven others, according to local authorities.
Information Officer for Kirikasamma Local Government Council, Musa Muhammad, confirmed the tragedy in a statement released in Dutse on Sunday.
He attributed the collapse to intense rainfall in Kirikasamma and surrounding areas.
“The incident occurred at midnight on Friday, leaving seven people with serious injuries and one fatality in Kabak village,” Muhammad stated.
He further noted that five of the injured were admitted to a hospital for treatment, while two others received medical care and were discharged. In response to the tragedy, the council’s Chairman, Muhammad Maji, visited the site to offer condolences to the victims and their families.
Muhammad added, “The chairman has provided N500,000 to support the medical expenses of the injured and N100,000 as emergency aid to the families of the deceased.”
