Veteran showbiz personality Charles Oputa, popularly known as CharlyBoy, is poised to unveil his highly anticipated memoir, “999”, a candid and unapologetic account of his life’s journey.
In a recent Instagram post, CharlyBoy teased the book’s release, describing it as “a battleground” that chronicles his experiences, struggles, and triumphs.
The 74-year-old maverick described “999” as “not just a memoir, but a challenge, a confession, a revolution” that offers a glimpse into his life, including his marriages, personal struggles, and professional journey.
CharlyBoy wrote: “Google defines the figure ‘999’ as an angelic number and a dawn of new beginnings. It’s a signal, a red alert that you’re about to read the unapologetic truth about the self-styled President of all Frustrated Nigerians.”
He added: “For over 40 years, I used the CharlyBoy brand to challenge Nigeria’s hypocrisy. To provoke, awaken, and give voice to the silenced. Was I controversial? Yes. Rebellious? Certainly. But also relentlessly real.”
The memoir promises to be a raw and unfiltered account of CharlyBoy’s life, covering topics such as his relationships, health struggles, and career milestones. He hopes that by sharing his struggles, he can give others permission to heal and live fully.
“From national fame to private pain, including my current battle with prostate disease and erectile dysfunction, nothing in the book, ‘999’, is off-limits,” CharlyBoy revealed. “It’s time we stop pretending and start living fully.”
The release of “999” is eagerly awaited by fans and followers of CharlyBoy, who have been fascinated by his alternative lifestyle, political views, and media productions.
