Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has lifted the suspension imposed on his commissioners, senior special assistants, special assistants, and 22 permanent secretaries.
Governor Nwifuru in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Dr. Monday Uzor, directed the affected officials to resume their duties immediately.
The suspension, which was lifted on Tuesday, was initially imposed on July 28, 2025, due to the officials’ absence from an official government function.
The governor had suspended a total of 81 government officials, sparking speculation about the future of his administration.
However, with the lifting of the suspension, the officials are expected to return to their duties without further delay.
The development is seen as a significant move to restore normalcy to the state’s government operations.
