Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo
Edo State House of Assembly has approved a N100 billion loan for Governor Monday Okpebholo to fund infrastructural development projects across the state.
The approval followed Okpebholo’s letter to the House, requesting legislative backing for the loan facility from First Bank Nigeria Plc.
According to the letter, signed by Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ikhilor, the loan would support contractors’ financing for infrastructure projects in various parts of Edo.
The lawmakers unanimously supported the request, citing the need to complete ongoing projects.
“We unanimously support the N100 billion request, as it will help complete all ongoing infrastructure projects in the state,” the Assembly resolved.
The Speaker, Blessing Agbebaku, directed the Clerk to forward clean copies of the resolution to the governor for immediate implementation. The Assembly also passed a bill establishing St. Matthew Royal College of Nursing Science, Edenu-Irrua.
The loan approval is expected to boost infrastructure development in Edo State, improving the lives of residents and supporting economic growth.
