Arsenal secured a crucial English Premier League (EPL) victory over Chelsea on Sunday, edging the Blues 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium.
The goals came from corners, but David Raya played a big part in this one.
Chelsea had more of the ball, 58.7 per cent, and completed 476 passes.
Arsenal had 41.3 per cent and made 338 passes. For long stretches, Chelsea were the ones pushing.
Arsenal took the lead in the 21st minute when William Saliba headed in from a corner. Chelsea hit back just before half time after a messy set piece led to an own goal.
After the break, Chelsea came forward again.
That was when Raya showed his value. He made four saves in the match. Two of them were key, one from close range and another low stop that kept the score level at the time.
He stayed calm, dealt with crosses properly and did not look rattled even when Chelsea won 10 corners.
In the 66th minute, Jurrien Timber scored from another corner to put Arsenal back in front. From there, it was about holding on.
Chelsea had nine shots, three on target. Arsenal had 12, five on target. Pedro Neto was sent off in the 70th minute, which made things tougher for Chelsea, but Raya had already done the hard work before that red card.
This was not a smooth performance from Arsenal. There were moments they looked stretched. But their set pieces were sharp, and their goalkeeper was reliable when called upon. That carried them through.
