The former Chief Justice of Nasarawa State, Justice Ahmed Ubangari (rtd), has emerged as the new paramount ruler of the Eggon nation.
Governor Abdullahi Sule, in a meeting with the leadership and members of the state’s Traditional Council of Chiefs in Lafia, on Friday, announced the selection of the new Aren Eggon.
The former Chief Judge was selected by two out of the three surviving kingmakers and ratified by the traditional council of Chiefs and approved by the governor.
Justice Ubangari-Rtd succeeded late Dr. Bala Abaine Angbazo, who died in July 2022.
The retired Jurist, Justice Ahmed Ubangari, was born on December 30, 1945, in Nassarawa-Eggon town.
He attended Umme Primary School between 1955-58, Senior Primary School, Wamba in 1959-61, Teacher’s College Toro 1962-66 and Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, 1971-73, then Nigerian Law School in 1979.
He was made Registrar of Courts between 1973-79, Magistrate II 1980, Senior Magistrate in 1983, Chief Magistrate in1984-86, Deputy Chief Registrar in1987-89, Chief Registrar between 1990-92, High Court Judge in 1993-98 and ChiefJudge of Nassarawa State in 1999.
