Flood: Borno announces relief account, urges donation for the affected victims

The Borno State government has announced the establishment of a dedicated relief fund to provide urgent assistance to victims of the recent flooding that has devastated parts of Maiduguri and its environs.

A statement issued on Friday by Mr. Abdurrahman Ahmed Bundi, Senior Special Assistant on New Media to Governor Babagana Zulum, said the state government has set up a flood relief account at Zenith Bank, with the account name “BORNO ST. FLOOD DISASTER RELIEF” and account number 1313556361.

The statement reads in parts: “”Borno State government has established a dedicated relief fund that can provide urgent assistance to those affected by the recent flooding within Maiduguri and its environs.

“The government aims to mobilise support from citizens, organisations, and international partners to alleviate the suffering of flood victims and facilitate their recovery.

“The recent flood have caused significant destruction, displacement of families and damage to vital infrastructure.

“Faced with this humanitarian crisis, Borno State government calls on all individuals and groups to contribute to the newly created flood relief account.
