Gov Ortom appoints Lawrence Okwe as special assistant on media

Ortom constitutes committee to investigate alleged diversion of palliatives

The Executive Governor of Benue State, Dr Samuel Ortom has approved the immediate appointment of Mr Lawrence Okwe as Special Assistant to the Governor on Media.

In a letter conveying the appointment, the Secretary to the State government Prof Anthony Ijoho said the choice of Mr Okwe is based on merit and therefore he should mobilise all the sterling qualities which singled him out for the appointment to justify the confidence reposed in him.

Okwe, who is the Publisher of The Magnet Newspaper until his new elevation, is the Financial Secretary of Independent Print media Publisher Association of Nigeria (PPAN), a board member of the Benue State Football Association (BSFA) representing Oju/Obi Federal Constituency.

He hails from Igbegi Uwokwu in Oju LGA, Benue State.

In a telephone chat with DAILY ASSET, Okwe thanked the Governor for the confidence reposed in him and promised to work hard in order to achieve the vision the governor have for the state.
