Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia
Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has pledged to work tirelessly to restore peace in the state, particularly in the six local governments currently plagued by insecurity.
Alia made the commitment while addressing support groups celebrating Democracy Day in Makurdi.
“We will never rest on our oars until peace is fully restored in Benue, especially beyond the six local governments currently at the frontline of insecurity,” Alia said.
“I am confident that with the support of the president, we will overcome this insecurity.”
The governor also urged religious leaders to use their platforms responsibly, saying, “Don’t misuse your sacred platforms, altars and podiums to spread misinformation.
“Speak only what you know, what is verifiable, and what you truly stand for.”
Alia expressed gratitude for President Bola Tinubu’s support, while the APC Chairman in the state, Benjamin Omale, commended Tinubu and Alia for their leadership, urging Benue people to support their re-election in 2027.
