Mrs. Irek, who narrated her ordeal in a interview with journalists in Calabar, said the children, between one year old were taken by the soldiers at about 8:47 in the morning.
She explained that: “As we drove out of the gate and about to go to church, two men blocked our vehicles”.
“They came with a Prado jeep and are suspected to have been lodging in a nearby hotel for some days”.
“One of the soldiers, who were masked asked me to come back home but while this was going on another set of masked soldiers were at home”, she said.
Also speaking, Kezia Robinson Awak, the daughter of Roseline Irek and mother of the abducted children said her husband, Hon. Robinson Awak, a former member representing Oron Federal Constituency is behind the abduction
Giving her account of the incident, Kezia said “At about 8:57am, someone knocked on our door and my younger sister went to check who was there, when the door was violently pushed open”.
“Suddenly, we saw a lot of armed masked men on military uniform and Mr. Robinson was also with them and wore a face mask”.
“We heard him direct the army to take the children and then promised her that he was going to deal with them”.
“He violently flung the children into a waiting Hilux and then they drove away with the children”.
“I am terrified he can harm them because he pays the police and army to perpetuate his acts”, she lamented.
