Jarma Sokoto, 2 PDP senatorial candidates, others to join APC – Sources

Ahead of the rally by the presidential candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC), Bola Ahmd Tinubu, indications have emerged that a top political bigwig in Sokoto State, Alhaji Umoron Kwobo (Jarman Sokoto) will be leading scores of his supporters to join the train of APC on Thursday, sources confirmed.

Jarma, who is a grassroots politician commands massive political support and goodwill in Sokoto and has remained solidly behind most electoral successes of politicians in Sokoto State.

Confirming his declaration of support for the APC ahead of the February general elections, the reliable source, who preferred anonymity, said, Jarma is likely to pulled two of the current Senatorial candidates of the PDP with him to the APC.

Though, the source refused mentioning the names of the two PDP Senatorial candidates likely to move to the APC with Jarma, however, indications have emerged that they are his known loyalists even from the onset.

While on a fact finding mission to the personal residence of Jarma, it was like a Mecca of sort for legions of his supporters with many groups coming to declare allegiance to his political moves.

As at the time of filing this report, it is yet to be ascertained who are the two PDP Senatorial candidates likely to defect to the APC with Jarman Sokoto tomorrow Thursday, however, pundits have over time continued to point fingers on the current Deputy Governor, Manir Dan’Iya who is seen by many as a political godson of Jarma and the Senatorial candidate of PDP in Sokoto North Senatorial District.

Manir is to slug it out with former governor Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko who is the current APC Senatorial candidate for Sokoto North Senatorial candidate and recontesting for a third term in office.

Senator Wamakko is the current Senate committee chairman on Defence and Deputy Chairman on anti-corruption, and strongly loved by locals in the Sokoto State.
