President Bola Tinubu
Former House of Representatives member, Mr. Sam Onuigbo, has hailed President Bola Tinubu as an “indisputable beacon of Nigeria’s democracy.”
Onuigbo praised Tinubu’s bold and patriotic sacrifices during the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO) era, fighting for democratic governance.
“Tinubu is an indisputable beacon of democracy. He joined NADECO in making sacrifices for Nigeria to restore democracy,” Onuigbo said in an interview with NAN.
He commended Tinubu’s leadership as Lagos State Governor, bringing hope and transformation through democratic leadership.
Onuigbo urged Nigerians, particularly the Southeast, to ensure continuity by re-electing Tinubu in 2027.
“This is a man who worked for the emergence of President Muhammadu Buhari and some state governors and patiently waited till 2023 to ascend the presidency,” he said.
The former lawmaker expressed satisfaction with Tinubu’s economic reforms, citing the removal of fuel subsidy as a positive step.
“Removal of fuel subsidy is now yielding results with increased revenue being injected into the economy,” he noted.
Onuigbo thanked Tinubu for creating the South East Development Commission (SEDC), aimed at addressing post-civil war devastation. “SEDC is a panacea to age-long marginalization of the Southeast,” he said, advising the commission to judiciously manage resources to develop the zone.
