NACTAL commends FG over National Action Plan on human trafficking

The Network Against Child Trafficking, Abuse and Labour (NACTAL) has commended the Federal Government of Nigeria for approving the National Action Plan on human trafficking.

NACTAL gave the commendation through a communique issued at the end of a 3-day workshop held in Keffi, Nasarawa State to realign its strategic plan (2020-2024) to the National Action Plan on Human Trafficking in Nigeria (2022-2026).

The communique was jointly signed by Ositadimma Samuel Osemene,, the National Secretary NACTAL and Chairperson Communique drafting committee and Mrs. Imabong Sanusi, the NACTAL North-Central Zonal Coordinator, and Secretary of the communique drafting committee respectively.

They described the development as the needed roadmap towards combating the ugly crime, added that NAP speaks directly to the current Trafficking in Persons (TIPs) challenges being faced by Nigerians.

They also called on all donor agencies to support the implementation of the NAP as a veritable tool to combatting the menace of human trafficking in Nigeria.

While appreciating F11APP and the European Union for supporting the workshop, NACTAL equally thanked partners such as NAPTIP, the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons, USAID-SCALE Palladium, Expertise France, United Nation Organisation on Drug and Crime (UNODC) and International Organisation on Migration (IOM) for their commitments towards halting TIPs.
