The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has solicited the support of the Federal Ministry of Education to ensure that the infused Trafficking In Persons Curricular was put to immediate use by schools.
The Director-General of NAPTIP, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, made the request when she paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of State for Education, Mr Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, on Thursday in Abuja.
Sulaiman-Ibrahim explained that use of the infused trafficking in persons curricular by schools would help give students first hand knowledge of the issues surrounding the menace of human trafficking.
The D-G, while explaining the mandate of the agency, pointed out the strategies the organisation used in the fight against trafficking in persons.
She appreciated the support of the ministry before her appointment as the NAPTIP boss by the President Muhammadu Buhari.
Responding, Nwajiuba promised to support the agency in ensuring that Trafficking in Person (TIP) was not just infused in schools but also adopted and put in good use.
This, according to him, will help in curbing the issue of human trafficking at an infant level.
The minister thanked the Director-General for her service to humanity. (NAN)
