A snocker joint
Late-night disagreement at a snooker joint in Ombi 1 area of Lafia, Nasarawa State capital has ended in tragedy, leaving one man dead and another in police custody.
According to community sources, the incident was reported around 6:00 a.m. on February 21 by a resident, Akulu Sunday.
He told authorities that his tenant, Precious Chinedu Madu, was allegedly attacked with a stick during a dispute with Ismail Abubakar, who is said to manage the facility.
Witnesses explained that the argument escalated suddenly, leading to the physical assault. Madu reportedly collapsed after being struck and was rushed to a nearby hospital in Lafia for urgent medical attention.
However, a doctor later confirmed that he was dead on arrival.
Security operatives have since arrested the suspect and taken him into custody, while a full investigation has been launched to establish the exact circumstances that led to the fatal confrontation.
Authorities assured residents that findings from the inquiry would be made public and that appropriate legal action would follow based on the outcome of the investigation.
