Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has petitioned the Attorney-General of the Federation and the Inspector-General of Police to investigate and prosecute musician King Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as KWAM1 or K1 De Ultimate, over an incident involving ValueJet.
The incident occurred on Tuesday during a scheduled ValueJet flight VK201, reportedly disrupting standard operational procedures and raising concerns over passenger conduct and airline safety protocols.
Preliminary reports revealed that KWAM1 allegedly violated Nigeria Civil Aviation regulations.
The NCAA emphasized the importance of upholding aviation safety standards and ensuring accountability.
“While full details of the incident are still being compiled, the NCAA has emphasised the importance of upholding aviation safety standards and ensuring accountability, regardless of the parties involved”, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection of NCAA, Mr Michael Achimugu, said in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.
*No-Fly List Advisory*
NCAA Director-General Capt. Chris Najomo issued an advisory to Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON), urging consideration of a No-Fly List for K1 De Ultimate on any commercial flight pending investigation outcome.
According to him, this aligns with global aviation standards prioritizing safety.
“The NCAA reiterates its commitment to ensuring that no individual, regardless of their status or public image, undermines the integrity of our aviation industry.”
