The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Monday announced that it has registered 12 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of infections in the country to 168,552 confirmed cases.
As at Sunday, 11 July, 2021, the public health agency recorded two COVID-19-related deaths, leaving the total fatalities in Nigeria to 2,124 deaths.
The NCDC made this know in an update via its official website, https://www.ncdc.gov.ng, noting that the 12 new cases were reported from 3 states, including: – Akwa-Ibom (6), Ogun (4) and Rivers (2).
It added that with the new cases, the total number of confirmed infections since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country had risen to 168,552 confirmed cases, out of which 164,438 Covid-19 patients have been discharged.
The NCDC further noted that there were now 1,897 active cases across the country in the last 24 hours and it has so far carried out sample test on 2,331,734 persons since the outbreak of the pandemic, last year.
