Obidient Movement has declared its preparedness ahead of the November 8 Anambra governorship election, vowing to defend the people’s mandate and ensure a credible electoral process.
Speaking in Abuja on Friday, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, National Coordinator of the movement, announced that structures had been fully activated across all 5,720 polling units in the state. He made the remarks during a press briefing held at the George Moghalu Campaign Office in Udoka Estate, Awka.
> “Our structures are alive, active and alert,” Tanko said.
“We’ve also established digital monitoring systems to prevent electoral malpractice. The era when results were written in back rooms is over.”
According to him, Polling Unit Commanders have already been deployed across the state, forming a grassroots network that stretches from Awka to Nnewi and beyond.
Tanko dismissed any talk of division within the movement, insisting that the Obidient family remains united and focused.
> “There is no faction, no confusion. We stand together under one vision—the vision of a New Nigeria that begins from our polling units.”
He also issued a call to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to maintain neutrality and to security agencies to ensure a peaceful voting environment.
> “To every Anambra citizen, we say: your vote is your power—protect it and use it wisely. The world is watching. Nigeria is watching. And we, the Obidients, are ready.
A new Anambra is possible, and together, we will make it happen.”
With the countdown to the crucial election now underway, the Obidient Movement’s declaration signals a high-stakes political contest in one of Nigeria’s most politically active states.
