Director General of the Plateau State Information and Communication Technology Development Agency (PICTDA), Engineer Dominic Datong Gwaman, has formally resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Gwaman’s defection was confirmed on Saturday at Namu Ward in Quanpan Local Government Area of Plateau State, where he completed his registration as a member of the APC after fulfilling all required ward-level procedures.
His decision follows recent political realignments in the state and comes amid heightened movements of political office holders across party lines.
In a resignation letter dated January 10, 2026, and addressed to the PDP Ward Chairman in Namu Ward, Quanpan Local Government Area, Gwaman announced his exit from the party with immediate effect.
“I write to formally notify you of my resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), with immediate effect,” the letter read.
The PICTDA Director General expressed gratitude to the PDP for the opportunity to serve under its platform, noting that his experience in government contributed significantly to his professional growth.
“I wish to express my sincere appreciation to the Party for the opportunity granted to me to serve Government under its platform. The exposure, experience, and responsibility entrusted to me during my engagement were professionally fulfilling and contributed significantly to my growth in public service,” he stated.
Gwaman also acknowledged the support he received from party members throughout his time in the PDP, while wishing the party well in its future endeavours.
“I remain grateful for the support, cooperation, and confidence reposed in me throughout my association with the Party. I wish the Peoples Democratic Party continued success in the advancement of its vision and objectives,” the letter added.
Following the submission of his resignation, Gwaman was received by officials of the APC Ward Executive in Namu, where he formally enrolled as a party member.
Speaking shortly after his registration, he pledged his commitment to the ideals of the APC and promised to contribute to the party’s growth and grassroots mobilisation in the area.
Political observers say the development reflects ongoing shifts within Plateau State’s political landscape, as prominent figures continue to reposition ahead of future electoral contests.
