Super Falcons of Nigeria
By JOY ADARA, Abuja –
Super Falcons of Nigeria have kept their Mission X dreams alive with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Tunisia at the Women African Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Asisat Oshoala’s fourth-minute strike set the tone for the win, which was followed by Rinsola Babajide’s powerful shot in added time of the first half and Chinwendu Ihezuo’s clinical finish in the 87th minute.
Oshoala’s early goal gave the Super Falcons a confident start, and Babajide’s second goal in added time put the team in a strong position.
“The win handed the Super Falcons three points and momentary leadership of group B,” the report said.
Ihezuo’s goal in the 87th minute sealed the win for the Super Falcons, with Esther Okoronkwo providing the assist. The victory keeps Nigeria’s hopes of winning a 10th continental title alive.
