TCN staff feared dead as vehicle ram into Boko Haram IED in Maiduguiri

A developing report says the staff of The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) working to fix the power outage in Maiduguri along Maiduguri – Damaturu road, ram into a road planted with IED, which destroyed the vehicles and all the staff were killed in the incident.

The tragedic incident shows the determination from the insurgents to ensure that power is not restored to Maiduguri city for a long time.

Confirming the incident to our reporter, a senior TCN staff said: it is true the incident happened, but none of their staff lost their life as they only sustained some degrees of injuries.

“It is true their vehicle stepped on IED, but thank God no life was lost.. they just sustained various degree of injuries. The insurgents equally burnt down the conductor cables and other equipment for the repair work”, he said.
