There was tension in Makurdi Benue State capital as the scheduled meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) could not get any place to hold their meeting scheduled and announced the previous day.

The meeting was originally scheduled to hold at the party secretariat but following the impromptu ban of political gatherings and meetings by the Benue State Government, the secretariat was taken over by heavily armed security personnel, a situation that propelled the organisers to find an alternative venue.

As arrangements were hurriedly made to move the meeting to the City Bay, a property that belongs to Mr. Asema Achado, member of the House of Representatives for Gwer/ Gwer West Federal Constituency, the state governor was said to have sent people away from the place.

The Governor reportedly informed that he was not going to toy with security of the people of the state and would not allow anyone to do it.

The Abuja APC members who were to participate in the meeting were yet to arrive before everything was shattered.

Meanwhile, another secretariat of the party has been established besides BSEMA office even as the other secretariat was still owned by the APC.

This implies that while Austine Agada remains in the old secretariat, Benjamin Omakolo will occupy the new secretariat.
