The Sokoto Missionary Zonal Pastor of Christian Evangelical Church of Nigeria (CEFN), Reverend Micheal Adaji Olobo has asserted that the choices we make form the bases of our targets per time.

Rev Olobo who took his Sunday text from Habakkuk 1: 1-3, spoke on the topic, “”Envisioned The Year”, added that, our targets gives direction to our pursuits for actualization as well.

While noting that people do not become spiritually or economically wealthy by mere wishes, Rev Olobo said, we must work, plan and invest to attain our desired achievements in life.

“The year has just began. It is still very young. We have just spent 21 days out of the 366 days of the year. Let’s ask ourselves, what have we envisioned or create a mental image for ourselves this year?

“”Despite our expectations, God cannot fail because He is too faithful to disappoint, we must also work towards attaining our envisioned goals for the year.

“Our choices form our target and that determine our pursuit which at the long run defines our achievements”, Rev Olobo noted.

Speaking further, Rev Olobo said despite CEFN declared 2024 as their year of High Favour, you have to envision the year for a particular exploit, as High favour does not land on a person that has no plan.

“If you cry for high favour and there is nothing you are pursuing, then you are wasting your time. What are you waiting for? What is your expectation for the year? Are you waiting upon God to see Him bring those thing to last in your life? Then work and plan.

“The reason why we spend our money anyhow is because we don’t have plans. Money is not meant for spending but investment.

“”That project you thought is not possible can be done if you plan and invest little by little. Do not also forget that anything you didn’t ask for you are not qualified to have it.

Rev Olobo who further stressed the importance of itemizing our targets for the purposes of priority, said in Habakkuk 2 verse 2, God appeared to Habakkuk and instructed him to write his vision down.

This by implications, therefore, means whatever that is written has become legal and can be followed until it’s achieved.

“If you don’t know what you want, everything will become your result and if you accept every result as yours then you are a failure.

“I urge you today to plan for purpose first before pleasure. Which was why Habakkuk said he will wait upon the Lord.

“If you have a goal, then maintain your closet in prayer until the result is made manifest. This is why If you know where you are going, not everybody is a co passenger. But if you don’t know what you are pursuing, then everybody will become your friend.

“Kindly note that, it is the goals your set for yourself that should determine your friends as Proverb 13 captured it that ones environment is a major factor that determine his progress in life. Therefore, be careful of the kind of friend you keep.

“Check your association, it’s people who have no target that run without a direction. And anybody who runs without a target is a vagabond.

“Who are your friends? If you have a vision for the year, then change your friends to those that will support your vision.

“Nobody is responsible for your failure. It’s all about your decision. What you want to be will be visible by the kind of friends you keep”. Rev Olobo charges members.
