By DAVID IORJA, Abuja-
President Bola Tinubu has inaugurated the N16 billion Lafia flyover and underpass in Nasarawa State, commending Governor Abdullahi Sule for prudent resource management and commitment to improving the lives of the people.
The project, which spans one kilometer, is a testament to the state’s progress and development.
Tinubu said, “Thank you very much. May God bless the state. I therefore commission the project.”
The President’s visit marked the first time he has visited Nasarawa State since assuming office in 2023.
This gesture demonstrates his commitment to the state’s growth and development.
Governor Sule thanked the President for honoring the state with his presence, saying, “This is the first project that you are going to commission for us. It is a combination of an underpass and a flyover covering one kilometer.”
Sule added that the project was completed within one year, without borrowing, thanks to the President’s reforms.
“We have paid the contractors 100 per cent without borrowing one naira because of your reforms,” Sule stated.
The governor announced that the project would be named “Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Interchange” in recognition of the President’s contributions to the state’s development.
This gesture highlights the strong partnership between the state and federal governments in driving progress.
Other projects commissioned during the visit include: dualized 5 kilometers Shendam Road; modern State Secretariat complex; tractors and operational vehicles for security; official vehicles for traditional rulers
