
Unveiling of Cross Atlantic Newspaper

The Chief Press Secretary to Governor Bassey Otu, Mr. Gill Nsa, has described the presentation of a local tabloid Cross Atlantic Newspaper as a very good initiative that will complement government efforts.
Nsa made the remark during a presentation of the newspaper at the NUJ Press Centre Calabar on Monday.
His words’ Let me congratulate the Publisher and management of the Cross Atlantic Newspaper for the feat at this period of time, “
According to the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, the Bassey Otu led Administration is willing to support the media including the local tabloid”
Cross River State Council Chairmen, Comrade Archibong Bassey, said the development would add value to the journalism profession
Also speaking, the former head of Service, Ogban Akwaji, who is also a veteran Journalists congratulated the publisher of the newspaper for adding to the journalism profession, stating that he see a new Chapel coming up from the paper.
He stated that journalism is not like the Civil Service where you retired at a particular age. He recommended that management should adopt a balanced approach in their reporting.
Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Sports, Sam Egbala, described the Newspaper as a welcome development to the profession.
On his part, the General Manager of Cross River Radio and Television, Sam Nsora, described the colour separation as good and the character which is very important.
Publisher of the Newspaper, Lawrence Mkpama, said the birth of the newspaper is a product of hard work and dedication in the journalism profession.
The unveiling of the Atlantic Newspaper attracted veteran journalists from different strata of the society in Cross River State.
