Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has officially launched the construction of 10.5 kilometres of access roads to serve the Renewed Hope Housing Estate in the Karsana District of Abuja.
Speaking during the project flag-off on Friday, Wike said the construction of roads N11, N16, N40, and SILS 03 was in line with the administration’s commitment to expanding infrastructure and opening up more districts across the FCT.
“This signals the fulfilment of promises made to the residents, especially the infrastructural development of the FCT,” Wike stated.
He emphasized that the initiative directly supports President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at improving housing and infrastructure nationwide.
Wike noted that the road construction—expected to be completed in 18 months—will enhance urban development and stimulate real estate and economic activities in the area.
“The roads when completed would boost the real estate development and other economic activities in the area.
“The provision of access roads is critical to the rapid and sustainable development of any city,” he said.
He assured the contractors of timely funding, reiterating the FCT Administration’s readiness to deliver quality infrastructure that directly impacts the lives of residents.
Also speaking at the event, the Acting Head of Service of the FCT, Nancy Nathan, described the project as a strategic intervention aimed at improving traffic flow and connectivity.
According to her, “The road will boost commercial and residential development and ultimately contribute to the growth of Abuja as a modern city.”
She reaffirmed the administration’s resolve to implement legacy projects that will drive economic growth, improve livability, and serve future generations.
