Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has paid a compassionate visit to victims of the Maiduguri-Damboa road bomb blast which occurred earlier today.
The governor visited the injured who are currently receiving treatment at the State Specialist Hospital in Maiduguri.
During the visit, Governor Zulum sympathized with the victims and their families, describing the incident as painful and tragic.

He expressed deep sorrow over the loss of innocent lives and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured.
In a swift move, the governor directed that all victims of the attack should receive full and free medical services under the care of the Borno State Government.
He assured that his administration would continue to stand by the people in the fight against insurgency.

While addressing journalists shortly after the hospital visit, Governor Zulum confirmed the casualty figures, stating that eight people lost their lives in the blast.
He added that seven others sustained severe injuries and are undergoing intensive medical care, while 14 victims with minor injuries are expected to be discharged soon.
Governor Zulum called for continued resilience among residents and urged the military and other security agencies to intensify efforts in combating insurgency and securing major roads across the state.
