One of the leading presidential aspirants of the APC, Chief Rotimi Amaechi has advised Borno State delegates to vote for their conscience in the forthcoming party primaries.

Chief Amaechi also urged the delegates to ensure that they vote a credible and tested candidate who has proven integrity and courage to perform and drive the nation to a greater height.

He stated this on Sunday while addressing supporters and APC delegates from Borno state who converged at the Multi Purpose Hall of the Government House Maiduguri to welcome him.

The APC presidential aspirant, further, said that Nigeria today deserved a honest and patriotic leader who will carry all and sundry along on board without any discrimination.

He added that some Nigerian politicians are bad while only a few are good as most of the politicians are interested in enriching themselves while in office instead of serving the people and providing the poor and downtrodden with the basic infrastructures to live a better life.

According to him, his service as Rivers State Hon. Speaker, Rivers State Governor, Hon. Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Director General, President Buhari Campaign Organization are enough evidences from his achievements that he is the most qualified and acceptable aspirant to carry the presidential ticket of APC as well as the next President of Nigeria in 2023.

“For ordinary reason I couldn’t have been here in Maiduguri, Borno state for any campaign having been here with President Buhari twice and know fully well the kind of people we have in Borno state who believe in honesty, humility, hospitality, trust, fairness, justice and hard work which is being attested by their past and present leaders like Governor Zulum.

“But for of conscience of the people, particularly, the APC delegates and the forthcoming party primaries, I have to come as a Nigerian not an Hausaman or Igboman or Yorubaman or Kanuriman or Fulaniman but as a Nigerian. And because I am a Nigerian not a Christian or Muslim but a patriotic Nigerian. Because I am a detribalized person.

“I have served and performed credibly and because I want to improve in the present status of the economy, to fight corruption, improve on schools, hospitals and roads as well as electricity and water supply including, exploring oil in Borno shores, I decided to come and preach to you to vote for the right and credible candidate not just any politician because of money but conscience” Amaechi said.

In his remarks, Governor Babagana Zulum noted that,” To me , Power belongs to God and Only God gives power to whoever He pleases. As for me, I wish Nigeria should ruled by someone but only God knows who will rule this country next year.”

“I pray God to give whoever He pleases is capable and competent to lead this country to greater heights. Because Nigerians are in great problems . Because we the poor and downtrodden have been abandoned .

“Corruption has been embraced by all and unless we have fear of God and change as well pray God to give us good leader that will rule this country impressively, we still have a prob lm to solve as a nation and people.

“I urge you to take the advise of Chief Amaechi to the delegates to vote for their conscience . To think twice and importantly in what is the best for them and others. Buhari has said it already that he is not ruling beyond the 8 years constitutional provisions”.

“We hope, if you are elected , we want our railway line rehabilitated, oil exploration work resumed and we want to see how you can completely eliminate insurgency in the state , especially, the resuscitation of the Lake Chad Basin and Biu Dam,” Zulum said

Earlier, the DG/ National Coordinator, Amaechi Campaign Organization, Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume described Chief Amaechi as the most prepared APC Presidential candidate to clinch the party ticket and next President of Nigeria serving served in different political capacities at the state and national levels and achieved a lot in the interest of the people.

Ndume added that Chief Amaechi is a man of integrity, courage, hard work, dedication and simplicity as a humble Nigerian who is detribalized and has the interest of Nigeria in heart. He called on all supporters and members of the APC from the 27 LGAs of the state to vote for Amaechi to carry Nigeria to the promised land.

Meanwhile, The former COAS, Lt. General Tukur Yusuf Buratai (rtd) has called on the delegates to vote for Amaechi at the party’s congress in Abuja in order for security situation to be improved. He added that the presidential aspirant will also improve the educational, health, industrial , water and agricultural facilities in the country.
