Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has dismantled a transnational organised crime syndicate linked to the QNET/IGNITE network, arrested twelve suspects and rescued two victims.
The Service Public Relations Officer, Akinsola Akinlabi, confirmed this in a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja.
Akinilabi said the operation followed intelligence trafficking activities across Lagos and Ogun States.
He identified the suspects as one Burkinabé national believed to be the syndicate leader, alongside eight Liberians and three Cameroonians arrested in different parts of Lagos.
He said the suspects and the rescued victims have been transferred to the Service Headquarters for further investigation and necessary legal action.
The NIS spokesman urged members of the public to verify employment, education, business, and other migration offers through appropriate channels before travelling or making financial commitments.
