The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) Cross River State Chapter has congratulated the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over the peaceful conduct of the National Assembly and Presidential Elections in Cross River State.
IPAC also congratulated Senator-elect, Asuquo Ekpeyong, a candidate of the All Progressive Congress APC, Senator Jaigbe Agom of the People’s Democratic Party PDP for Cross River North.
Addressing Journalist in Calabar over the weekend, the IPAC Chairman, Anthony Bisong disclosed that majority of its members are not in support of the winner of Cross River Central Senator-elect, Eteng Williams, the current Speaker of Cross River State House of Assembly.
According to him, the majority of the parties will challenge his victory in court . Williams is the candidate of the All Progressive Congress APC.
They also congratulated the deputy Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly Joseph Bassey of the APC, Godwin Offione of the PDP for Obudu Obanliku Federal constituency Bassey Akiba of the Labour Party, LP member-elect for Calabar,/Odukpani Federal constituency. Emil Iyang for Biase/Akamkpa federal constituency and. candidate of the All Progressive Congress APC.
“We followed the election and we are satisfied by the process leading to their emergence, we commend INEC for the level of transparency achieved, we implore then to improve we have given them a pass mark “
Out of the three Senate seats in Cross River State, the All Progressive Congress APC took 2 , the people’s Democratic party won 1. In the House of Representatives election, out of 8 federal seats, the APC had 5, PDP 2 and Labour party LP won 1.
