The Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command, Umar Shehu Nadada, has ordered for thorough investigation into the gruesome murder of Hassan Yahaya Egwa, and officer with NG- CARES in the state.
CP Nadada, gave the order after he personally paid condolence visit to the residence of the deceased beside project quarters, off Shendam road, Lafia.
Police Public Relations Officer, Nasarawa State Command, DCP Nansel Ramhan, said “he condoled the family, ordered investigation to unravel the cause of the act and those behind the crime for possible arrest”.
Hassan Yahaya Egwa, a senior official of NG-CARES programme in Nasarawa State, was killed yesterday evening by yet to be identified gunmen.
According to an eyewitness, as he retired home, two gunmen descended on him, and dragged him out of his car, took him few meters away from his house, killed him and went away with some of organs.
Egwa, 32, who hailed from Obi town in Obi Local Government Area of the state, died leaving behind one wife and two children. He has since been buried according to Islamic rites.
