Kebbi State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has suspended Dr. Sule-Iko Sadeeq over what it described as his unauthorised self-declaration as the party’s State Chairman.
The announcement was made through a statement signed by Alhaji Abubakar Atiku-Musa, the party’s State Publicity Secretary, and made available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Sunday.
According to the statement, the suspension takes effect immediately, citing recent internal developments and the need to uphold the party’s constitution and the directives of the National Working Committee (NWC).
> “The NWC has resolved that all state chairmen should retain their positions until the completion of their tenure, which expires in May 2026,” the statement read.
The release further noted that the Coalition Leader of the ADC had no knowledge of Dr. Sadeeq’s self-announcement, describing his action as unilateral and without proper consultation or authorisation.
> “The State Working Committee (SWC) of ADC, Kebbi, therefore, officially suspends Dr. Sule-Iko Sadeeq from the party and warns him against participating in any party activities,” it added.
Reaffirming the party’s leadership structure, the statement stressed that Alhaji Sufiyanu Bala remains the legitimate and constitutionally recognised Chairman of the ADC in Kebbi State.
The party also called on security agencies to prevent Dr. Sadeeq from presenting himself as chairman or engaging in any political activities under that claim.
> “All party members, supporters, and the general public are hereby urged to disregard any unauthorised claims or information from Dr. Sadeeq that contradict the official position of the party,” the statement concluded.
