Manchester City edged Arsenal 2-1 in a thrilling Premier League clash on Sunday, tightening the title race and piling pressure on the Gunners.
Rayan Cherki gave City an early advantage before Kai Havertz capitalised on a costly error by goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma to draw Arsenal level.
Erling Haaland struck in the 65th minute to seal the victory, leaving Mikel Arteta frustrated after Havertz missed a late header that could have rescued a point.
The win puts Pep Guardiola’s side within touching distance of the summit, with a midweek victory at Burnley capable of sending City top as Arsenal risk another second-place finish.
Elsewhere, Virgil van Dijk scored a dramatic stoppage-time winner to hand Liverpool a 2-1 Merseyside derby triumph over Everton and boost their Champions League hopes.
Aston Villa also secured a dramatic 4-3 win over Sunderland after Tammy Abraham netted late, while Morgan Gibbs-White’s hat-trick powered Nottingham Forest to a 4-1 comeback against Burnley.
The results reshaped both the title race and relegation battle, with City closing in on the crown and Tottenham dragged deeper into survival trouble.
