Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has inaugurated a Technical Committee to fast-track the revival of the Olokola Free Trade Zone (OKFTZ), following renewed commitment by the Dangote Group to develop Nigeria’s largest industrial and free trade hub in Ondo State.
The governor described the move as a major step toward unlocking the state’s coastline for industrialisation, job creation and investment.
The committee has been tasked with reviewing legal agreements, resolving land and community issues, engaging key stakeholders, and preparing the project for implementation within six weeks, ahead of Dangote Group’s planned mobilisation.
Chaired by Chief Bode Sunmonu, the committee will coordinate with stakeholders including the Dangote Group, NEPZA, the Ogun State Government and relevant federal agencies to ensure the successful reactivation of the long-abandoned project.
Governor Aiyedatiwa reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to creating an investor-friendly environment, while the committee pledged to deliver its assignment transparently and in line with global best practices, positioning Olokola as a catalyst for economic growth and industrial transformation in Ondo State.
