Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas on Monday swore in a new batch of political appointees at the Banquet Hall of TY Danjuma House in Jalingo, urging them to serve with integrity and dedication.
He said the appointments were a call to responsibility, stressing that the confidence placed in them must be rewarded with effective service delivery.
The governor reminded the officials that good governance requires hard work, patience, courage and a commitment to the collective interest of the people.
Kefas charged the newly inaugurated members of the Taraba State Independent Electoral Commission (TSIEC) to remain impartial and uphold public trust in the state’s electoral process.
He also directed members of the Local Government Service Commission to build a responsive local government system that meets the needs of residents across the state.
Members of the Anti-Corruption Commission were urged to promote transparency and accountability, while the Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants were tasked with delivering measurable results in their various offices.
The governor further advised all the appointees to put aside ethnic, religious and political differences and focus on providing quality leadership, warning that they would be held accountable for their performance.
Speaking on behalf of the appointees, TSIEC Chairman Job Bala Aji thanked Governor Kefas for the opportunity and pledged that they would faithfully discharge their responsibilities in line with the oath of office.
