
Latest Covid-19 updates in Nigeria as at 26 April, 2021

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Tuesday announced that it has registered 37 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of infections in the country to 164,756 confirmed cases.
As at Monday, 26 April, 2021, the public health agency recorded one COVID-19-related deaths, leaving the total fatalities in Nigeria to 2,062 deaths.
The NCDC made this know in an update via its official Twitter handle @NCDCgov, noting that 37 new cases were reported from 6 states, including: – Lagos (26), Ogun (4), Kaduna (2), Rivers (2), Kwara (2), Edo (1).
It added that with the new cases, the total number of confirmed infections since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country had risen to 164,756 confirmed cases, out of which 154,963 Covid-19 patients have been discharged.
The NCDC further noted that there were now 7,929 active cases across the country in the last 24 hours and it has so far carried out sample test on 1,870,915 persons since the outbreak of the pandemic, last year.
It also said that a multi-sector national Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, is coordinating response activities Nationwide.
