Kaduna International Film Festival (KADIFF) and the National Gallery of Art (NGA) have initiated discussions on a strategic partnership aimed at promoting arts, culture and talent development in Nigeria.
The move was disclosed during a courtesy visit by the Director General of KADIFF, Audu Kashim Israel, to the headquarters of the National Gallery of Art in Abuja.
Audu was received by the Director of General Services of the National Gallery of Art, Mrs. Ekene Okoroma, alongside members of the management team, on behalf of the Director General of the agency, Mr. Ahmed Sodangi.
The meeting centred on exploring areas of collaboration that would deepen engagement between the two institutions and contribute to the growth of Nigeria’s creative and cultural sectors.
Among the proposed areas of partnership are capacity-building workshops to be held during the forthcoming Kaduna International Film Festival, as well as programmes designed to enhance the skills and competencies of young creatives.
The two organisations also discussed the possibility of organising creative competitions and other initiatives aimed at discovering, nurturing and showcasing emerging talents across the country.
Another key area of discussion was the production of visual arts documentaries that would promote Nigeria’s rich artistic heritage while providing wider visibility for local artists and cultural practitioners.
Participants at the meeting stressed the importance of strategic partnerships in advancing the creative industry, noting that collaboration among stakeholders remains critical to unlocking opportunities for innovation, employment and economic growth.
The KADIFF Director General was accompanied on the visit by Ms. Gloria Ugolee Ehiosun and Ambassador Terry Nyam Terkimbi, both programme staff of the Kaduna International Film Festival, who reaffirmed the festival’s commitment to fostering creativity and strengthening Nigeria’s cultural ecosystem.
