Air India plane carrying 156 passengers made a heart-stopping emergency landing on Friday after receiving a bomb threat onboard.
The flight, AI 379, was en route from Phuket, Thailand, to New Delhi, India, when it suddenly diverted to an island airport amid heightened security concerns.
According to Airports of Thailand officials, all passengers were safely escorted off the plane as an emergency response team sprang into action.
The aircraft, which took off from Phuket at 9:30 a.m. local time, made a wide loop around the Andaman Sea before landing safely on the southern Thai island.
The bomb threat’s details remain unclear, and authorities are working to determine the authenticity of the threat.
Airports of Thailand (AOT) confirmed the incident, while Air India has yet to respond to requests for comment.

This incident follows a surge in hoax bomb threats targeting Indian airlines and airports.
Last year, nearly 1,000 such threats were reported in the first 10 months, a significant increase from 2023.
