Borno State APC e-registration and reconciliation committee has shifted into high gear, demanding that political heavyweights—including Senators and House of Representatives members—take direct responsibility for the party’s digital enrollment within their constituencies.
Committee Chairman, Ambassador Baba Ahmed Jidda, on Friday emphasized that with the exercise nearing its conclusion, the “strength and electoral preparedness” of the party depends on a massive surge in registered members.
The committee, inaugurated just days ago, has now pivoted from planning to aggressive field mobilization to ensure the APC’s dominance is reflected in the digital database.
The chairman stressed that this is not merely a clerical task but a fundamental political necessity.
He noted that the data gathered during this window will serve as the primary blueprint for the party’s internal planning and resource allocation.
Consequently, any lapse in registration could translate into a weakened political standing for the affected zones in future party deliberations.
Furthermore, the committee pointed out that the digital platform is designed to eliminate the irregularities associated with manual registers.
By moving to an e-format, the party aims to create a “clean” and verifiable database that reflects its actual strength on the ground.
Stakeholders were reminded that their leadership at the local level is the only way to ensure this transition is both thorough and credible.
To ensure accountability, the committee has established a monitoring framework that will track registration progress in real-time across the three senatorial districts.
Ambassadors and party elders are expected to act as supervisors, providing weekly updates on the numbers coming out of their respective federal and state constituencies.
Ambassador Jidda concluded by warning that the window for registration is rapidly closing. He urged the political class to view this as a legacy project that will safeguard the party’s interests for years to come, rather than a routine administrative exercise that can be handled with levity.
