Ayade declares Daily Trust workshop on Budget Tracking and Investigating Public Expenditures open

Governor Ben Ayade has declared a 3 day workshop on Budget Tracking and Investigating Public Expenditure Agenda open at Channel view Hotel Calabar the Cross River State capital.

The governor, who was delighted with the Daily Trust Foundation and MacArthur Foundation go sponsoring the workshop, also commended the organizers of the event for choosing Calabar for the South South training.

Governor Ayade, who was represented by his Deputy Chief Press Secretary, Linus Oboho urged the management to continue with the good work of training journalists with good skills in budget process.

Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of Daily Trust Foundation, Bilya Bala said as part of the Cooperates Social Responsibility (CSO) of Daily Trust management, the foundation has been given succor to the Internal Displaced Person (IDP) and founding of medical students in tertiary institutions.

Bala said the objective of the workshop is aimed at equipping the media with the basic requirements on budget tracking and investigating public expenditures agenda.

He urged the media not to concentrate only on tracking Federal Government budget, but focused on state government and local government budget.

Different papers presentations on the budget process was done by the former Special Adviser to Governor Liyel Imoke, Peter Oti, Theophilus Abbah of the Daily Trust Foundation, who took on the objective and expectations at the end of the workshop
Other speaker include Abiola Rasak who spoke on understanding the budget tracking process, Tony Clinton Jaja handled Nigerian procurement law requirements and pitfalls
