Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has been honoured with the Nigeria Broadcasting Award by the Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON) in recognition of his administration’s strides in promoting peace, stability, and inclusive governance.
The award was presented at the BON Awards Ceremony held at the NAF Conference Centre, Abuja, and was received on behalf of the governor by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki.
Speaking at the event, Maiyaki described the recognition as a validation of the governor’s people-oriented leadership style and the effectiveness of Kaduna State’s peacebuilding approach, popularly known as the Kaduna Peace Model.
He said the administration’s strategy, which focuses on dialogue, justice, and inclusivity, has continued to yield positive outcomes across the state.
According to him, “This award affirms that Kaduna’s approach to peacebuilding is not only working but is also being acknowledged at the national level.
Governor Uba Sani has demonstrated that sustainable peace can only be achieved through fairness, trust, and active engagement with all segments of society.”
The commissioner noted that Kaduna State has witnessed a reduction in tensions and violent incidents, alongside improved harmony among its diverse ethnic and religious communities.
He added that the peace gains are being strengthened through deliberate investments in critical sectors such as economic empowerment, education, and infrastructure, which are key to sustaining long-term stability.
In his reaction, Governor Uba Sani dedicated the award to the people of Kaduna State, saying it reflects their resilience and commitment to peaceful coexistence.
He reiterated his administration’s commitment to building on the progress achieved and sustaining policies that promote unity, development, and inclusive governance.
The award, according to observers, further positions Kaduna State as a reference point in subnational peacebuilding efforts, with its model increasingly seen as a template for fostering cohesion and stability across Nigeria.
