
Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Kudirat
Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, is scheduled to administer the oath to 57 newly appointed Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) on Monday, September 29.
The swearing-in ceremony is part of activities marking the official start of the Supreme Court’s 2025/2026 legal year and will take place in the court’s main courtroom.
This was made known on Sunday in a statement issued by Festus Akande, Director of Information and Public Relations at the Supreme Court.
“In line with our age-long tradition, during the special court session, the Chief Justice of Nigeria, will deliver a State-of-the Judiciary address,” the statement noted.
The address aims to review the Supreme Court’s performance, alongside that of the broader Nigerian judiciary, during the 2024/2025 legal year.
In addition, prominent figures in the justice system are expected to deliver remarks concerning the current state of the sector.
These include the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, the Chairman of the Body of Senior Advocates of Nigeria (BOSAN), and the President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), among others.
All events lined up to mark the new legal year are scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m.
