Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum has given a rousing welcomed to El kanemi Warriors Football Club team players and the technical crew on their arrival form Sokoto Premier League match, where they won the match which earned them a promotion to Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
The governor, who was represented by The Commissioner of Youths Empowerment, Sport Development and Poverty Alleviation, Comrade Saina Buba led top management staff and supporters club to give the team a dignified reception.
The commissioner could not hide his joy when the motorcade conveying the players and technical crew moved round the Maiduguri city to acknowledge cheers and pleasantries from the people.
Addressing supporters at the El Kanemi Warriors Stadium Maiduguri, Comrade Buba said the governor have loved to receive the players personally but due to his official engagements outside the state, Gov. Zulum has asked him to stand in for him.
He noted that the governor promised to see the players when he is back to town in a later organized date.
He said the governor has extended his appreciation to the players, technical team and all other stakeholders who made it possible for the team to make it to the Nigeria Premier League.
