Former Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel and late Evangelist Uma Ukpai
Former Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of renowned Evangelist, Rev. Uma Ukpai, describing his death as an “irreplaceable loss and indescribable pain.”
The popular evangelist passed on October 6 but his death was announced yesterday by the family which has seen condolences pouring in from far and near.
In an emotional tribute, the former governor said the revered evangelist’s demise has left a void not only in his family but also in the larger Christian community across the world.
“These words aptly capture the impact that the passing of our dear father, the late Rev. (Dr.) Uma Ukpai, have on me personally and my entire family,” Emmanuel stated.
He noted that while death remains an inevitable reality, nothing truly prepares the heart for the loss of a loved one — particularly a father figure who prayed for, supported, and stood by him through the years.
Offering his condolences to Mama Uma Ukpai, the children, and the global body of Christ, Emmanuel said the life and ministry of the late evangelist left an indelible mark on humanity.
“The pain of this loss is indeed indescribable, yet we take solace in the knowledge that Daddy Uma Ukpai came, loomed large, and made lasting impact in the vineyard of the Lord,” he added.
He prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of Rev. Uma Ukpai, who until his passing, was one of Nigeria’s foremost Christian leaders and a global evangelist.
