Gov. Mohammed commends Alake for efforts being made to develop solid minerals in North East

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed has commended the Minister of Solid Minerals, Dele Alake for efforts being made to develop solid minerals in the North East Region of Nigeria.

The Governor observed that said it has become imperative for the federal government to partner Bauchi State to reduce the ongoing illegal mining activities and insecurity in the state.

He revealed that Bauchi State is blessed with abundant mineral resources the will generate revenue for then state and federal governments for the benefits of Nigerians..

On his part, he Minister commended the governor for repositioning the state since assuming office, emphasizing the need for collaboration to address the concerns of insecurity plaguing the mining sector across the states and the nation at large.

He said: “if we are to achieve our aim of developing solid minerals in the country, we must address the challenges of insecurity, the menace of illegal miners, and the activities of immigrants that are not properly documented”.

He frowned at the mining of our resources and illegally carting away funds that should accrue to our nation”.

“We cannot achieve this without synergy with the state government. Adding that there is need to overhaul the security architecture to effectively secure mining sites and their value chains.

Mr. Alake reiterated the commitment of President Tinubu in that regard, and asked Gov. Mohammed to partner the ministry to make this a reality as Bauchi State is one of the states that have been blessed with various natural resources..

The Governor was accompanied by the State Commissioner of Natural Resources, Hon. Bello Maiwada, and other political appointees.
